ABOUT COMSTOCK REVIEW, INC.

In the winter of 2019-2020 the editors of The Comstock Review decided to create a new organizational structure. Publication of The Comstock Review, along with all associated activities (including the poem and chapbook contests) was absorbed into Comstock Review, Inc., a newly formed 501c-3 non-profit organization. The Comstock Review, our flagship journal, continues to be produced by our seasoned editorial board, while day-to-day operations are carried out with the help and oversight of the Board of Directors of “CRInc.” Former Managing Editor Betsy Anderson is now the Board President.

Mission

Comstock Review, Inc.’s mission is to promote the writing, reading and appreciation of poetry, and to provide opportunities for poets of all ages to share their work with broad audiences. We work to bring high-quality poetry to a wider audience through in-person activities, print, and electronic media.
We seek to encourage and honor diverse poetic voices. We affirm the “classic” talents of seasoned writers and give a never-forgotten hand up to new, rising talent. At the same time, we work to attract new audiences and to broaden awareness for both rich poetic heritages and innovative forms of expression.

The new structure is designed to support a bright future as it builds on the The Comstock Review‘s recognition for the consistent quality of its efforts. The energy and opportunities of these changes are already making themselves evident as we work to revamp our website and increase our support for emerging talent among young poets, as well as other initiatives soon to be announced.
